Hundreds gather in Holyoke for the 1st Annual Cory Garwacki Gala
HOLYOKE, Mass. (WWLP) – People came together Friday night to celebrate a young life that touched so many in western Massachusetts. Close to 200 people gathered at the Log Cabin in Holyoke for the first annual Cory Garwacki Gala.

Cory was one of the first kids to benefit from the services offered by Baystate Children’s Hospital. He lived to 27-years-old and made them all count.

Elizabeth Garwicki, Cory’s mom, told 22News the turnout is a reminder of how many people Cory touched; “Cory was such a huge presence in our life, but I think we all still feel him with us, all the time.”

22News Anchor Rich Tettemer was a life-long friend of Cory; they met during the Children’s Miracle Network Telethons. Cory suffered from short gut syndrome, and died in October of 2014.

The Gala was sponsored by the Cory J. Garwacki Foundation, which promotes Cory’s mission of “Live to Give.”
